This little volume on Shaker cookery may never find its way into the technology departments of our large libraries where cookbooks stand in neat rows by the legion, for I am writing it not for its scientific contribution, but rather to set forth the Shakers' important contributions to the developmant of an all-American cookery when our land was yet young.
